Intimate Greek Orthodox Montreal Wedding
A Greek Orthodox Montreal wedding in September, could there be anything better? Studio Baron Photo was so happy to be the one to capture Barbara & George’s intimate Greek Orthodox Montreal wedding. They chose to have their closest friends and family in attendance.
The bride got ready at the Sheraton Montreal Airport Hotel, where they would later also host the reception for their guests. It was Studio Baron Photo’s first time shooting a wedding at the hotel, and we couldn’t have been happier. The light in the suite was just perfect for a dramatic start to the day, with our stunning bride.
The groom got ready at his family’s home in Kirkland. He was then was on his way to say I do at St-George Cathedral Orthodox Church. It was a Greek Orthodox ceremony, at a very popular institution.
With all the excitement from both the bride and the groom, and despite the Montreal traffic and construction detours, we still arrived on time. Things didn’t quite go to plan from there.
This church schedules ceremonies VERY tightly together, with only a few minutes to spare for one to end and then begin the next ceremony. It seems that the day’s first bride was very late to the church, and that set the rest of the day behind.
Our bride was such a trooper, waiting in her vintage car for 45 MINUTES! All with no air conditioning and no idea when their turn would come. Our groom was waiting it out with his family in a different limo, so as to still give the couple a breathtaking moment of seeing each other for the first time in church.
Eventually, it was their turn and thoughts of schedules were forgotten and they did what they came there to do… get married!
After the big moment, Studio Baron Photo, along with the couple and guests went back to the Sheraton Montreal Airport Hotel for photos and the reception. The gardens of the hotel offered a lovely backdrop, and some great photo opportunities.
After cocktail hour, the guests were invited to greet the couple and offer their well wishes in the receiving line that was full of emotion and love. Then it was on to the dinner, and the food was amazing! The wine was flowing and so were the speeches that made everyone laugh and cry. It was impossible not to be moved by all that was shared between the bride and groom and their loved ones.
Once dinner wrapped, the party really started! It may have been a smaller group, but that didn’t stop them from partying the night away. The night ended with the men smoking cigars on the terrace. It was so much fun to shoot!
It was such a pleasure to share in this moment with Barbara and George for their intimate Montreal wedding. We can’t wait to capture all the moments they will share in their married life together.
Xoxo, Val
